Community Engagement Services
At Sunny Haven, we believe everyone deserves to be an active part of their community. Our Community Engagement Program helps adults (18+) with intellectual and developmental disabilities foster independence through meaningful relationships and skill-building.
Guided by a 1:3 support ratio, our participants explore the world around them—whether they are volunteering, visiting a local park, or dining at a favorite restaurant. Every activity is an opportunity to grow communication, budgeting, and navigation skills based on individual ISP goals. With included transportation and flexible scheduling, we make it easy for our participants to lead engaged, fulfilling lives.
Sunny Haven Residential Services is currently has a waitlist for Community Engagement services. We do not have a projected reopening date at this time and appreciate your patience as we continue serving enrolled individuals.

Sunny Day - Day Support Services

Sunny Day Day Support, located in Staunton, Virginia, is an energetic and inclusive center serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the program offers structured group and individualized activities that promote confidence, independence, and meaningful social connection. With a 1:5 staff ratio, individuals receive personalized support in a safe, welcoming environment designed to encourage growth and engagement. The service provider is 18 years or older.
Participants enjoy a blend of center-based activities and community outings, including arts and crafts, skill-building sessions, wellness activities, bowling, and local events. Services are guided by each individual’s ISP and Person Centered Plan, ensuring that daily experiences reflect personal goals, strengths, and preferences.
Group Home Services
At Sunny Haven, our Group Home Services provide safe, family style living environments for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In partnership with Providers across Virginia, we operate small homes that feel warm and welcoming, not clinical. Individuals receive 24-hour support from trained staff, along with assistance with daily living, medication management, transportation, and skill building to promote independence and meaningful community involvement. The service provider is 18 years or older.
Each home supports three to four residents, allowing for personalized care and strong relationships. Services are guided by person-centered plans, coordinated by dedicated Program Managers, and designed to ensure safety, dignity, and a true sense of belonging

Sponsored Residential Services
Sunny Haven’s Sponsored Residential Services offer adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities a safe, family style living option in private homes across Virginia. Through our network of screened and trained Providers, individuals receive 24-hour support in homes licensed under Sunny Haven’s DBHDS certification and aligned with Virginia regulations and HCBS standards. Each home supports no more than two individuals, allowing for personalized care, stability, and meaningful relationships. The service provider is 18 years or older.
Supports are guided by each person’s Individual Support Plan and may include assistance with daily living, medication administration, transportation, community involvement, and skill development. Homes receive ongoing oversight from dedicated Program Managers to ensure quality, safety, and person-centered service delivery.
